My name is Mikaela Andersson, 20 years. I'm a florist and I did my last internship during college at Floristkompaniet in Stockholm, owned by Johan Pettersson. A few months after the graduation John calledand asked if I would like to help him to make floral decorations for Interflora's 90th anniversary to be held in January. The answer was of course yes!
Unexpected and luxurious decorations along the tables in the dining room. We drilled holes in pieces of wood and then pu wires in the holes - it took ages. It took twodays to make them, then we attached cymbidium ochids to the wites. It was a such great feeling to see all the tables ready!
When guests arrived they wre welcomed by a big golden frame decorated filled with flowers.Peace-in-the-home were attached to foam and the numbers 90 were made of roses, tulips, cymbidium ochids and hyacinths. A delicate job but it was very appreciated!
For the stage we made a huge peacock. It was stunning! Red leaves were attached to the a body made of chicken wire. Branches, flowers and feathers were used to create the tail feathers. At first the peacock was 2naked" on the scene, without its' feathers. After a few minutes music started and in came seven people, each of them carrying a huge construction. Then they attached the constructions to the bird. It was a lovely feeling to see the peacock become complete!
It was three long days full of hard work, flowers and fun. A memory for life!
