Johan Pettersson har tävlat i dom flesta tävlingar som finns för florister, han driver sin egen blomsterbutik och har blivit något av en ambassadör för floristyrket. Nu senast blev han svensk mästare i blomsterbinderi för andra gången.

Hur många gånger har du stället upp i SM?
- 5 totalt. 2004 (vann), 2006, 2008, 2010 och så nu 2012. Alla gångerna i final.

Du har tävlat Youth Skills, SM, NM, VM och driver din egen butik Floristkompaniet. Vad är nästa mål?
- Jag har alltid nya mål. Jag är en tävlingsmänniska och en männinska som vill utvecklas måste ha mål. Dock är det mycket lättare att uppfylla dom om man håller dem för sig själv så tyvärr kan jag inte delge er.

Vilken var den största utmaningen i detta SM?
- Jag tyckte att finaluppgiften med betongklumpen på temat  trädgårdsinstalation var svårast.

Inför oförberedda tävlingsuppgifter, händer det att allt bara
är blankt/hjärnsläpp? Vad gör du då?
- Det är bara att andas och ta det lugnt. Ett tips är att varubehandla snittblommorna, då har man tid att tänka....

Var hittar du inspiration?
- Överallt! Naturen, mode, design, inredning och framförallt från alla underbara blommor.

Hur mycket träning ligger bakom ett deltagande i SM?

- Jag tänker ständigt tävling, det utvecklar mig ständigt. Med varje liten bukett man gör, kan man tänka tävling.

Vad är det bästa med att tävla? Vad är det sämsta?
- Att se vad alla andra gör, det utvecklat mig mest. Det sämsta är i så fall att det tar mycket tid.

Något råd till florister som funderar på att börja tävla eller fortfarande är nybörjare?
- Att man inte har något att förlora, och att det är det absolut bästa sättet att utvecklas.

Favoritblomma?
- Många! Just nu gullviva och vitsippa.




Johan Pettersson has competed in most competitions available for floral designers, he runs his own flower shop and has become an ambassador for the florist trade in Sweden. Most recently he became the Swedish champion in floral arrangements for the second time.

- 5 in total. 2004 (won), 2006, 2008, 2010 and so now 2012. All times I've been in the final.


You have competed in Youth Skills, the Swedish Cup, Nordic Cup, World Cup and run your own store Floristkompaniet. What is the next goal?
- I always have new goals. I am a competitor and I always wants to develop and aim for new have goals. However, it is much easier to achieve your goals if you keep them to yourself. So unfortunately I cann't share them with you.

What was the biggest challenge of this championship?
- I found one of the tasks in the final, a concrete ball on the theme "a garden design", quite difficult.

When there is secret task on a competition, that you don't know anything about in advance, can it happen that you got a blackout? What do you do?
- Just breathe and relax. One tip is to treat the flowers, then you have some time to think ....

Where do you find inspiration?
- Everywhere! The nature, fashion, design, decor and especially from all the wonderful flowers.


How much training is behind participation in a competition?
- I'm constantly thinking about it. With each small bouquet you do, you can imagine that it's a competition. That helps me to constantly develop myself.

What is the best thing about competing? What is the worst?
- To see what everyone else is doing, that is so inspiring. The worst thing is that it takes so much time.

Any advice for floral desinger who want to start competing?
- You have nothing to lose! And that it's the absolute best way to develop yurself.

Favourite flower?
- Many! Right now, primroses and wood anemones.
